Armed Robbery of CVS at 884 Washington Street

Braintree Police

At about 2:30 pm, the Braintree Police received a 911 call from a sales associate at CVS pharmacy at 884 Washington St. reporting that he had just been the victim of a robbery.  The employee stated that after entering the store, a male wandered around the store and waited for other customers to leave.  He then approached the register and stated, “I have a gun in my bag, you’re getting robbed, give me the money.”  The suspect is described as a black male, 5’ 8” to 6’0”, medium build and black hair.  He was wearing all black, a surgical mask, and brown work boots.  He appears to have left on foot.

Multiple Braintree Police units converged onto the scene along with a K9 Unit.  An area school was notified and advised to shelter-in-place.  After two hours of extensive searching, it was determined that the suspect was no longer in the area and the police discontinued their search.

It is believed that the suspect may have used surrounding side streets to make his escape.  We respectfully request any residents in the area of Thayer Library, Fire Headquarters, and the Braintree Transit Station to review any video footage to see if an image of this individual was captured.

The Braintree Police would like to thank all the residents and businesses that were inconvenienced during this search and appreciate all your assistance.  This investigation is ongoing.
